Review | Godox Mini Smart Studio Lighting Kit 300SDI-D  By Vineeth Suthan

One of the most frequently asked to me questions, is  how to begin the adventure of studio equipment, the strobe. More specifically, what to buy to start with, without spending too much.  When there is lot of them and you are on a budget then you need something that presents quality without forcing you to pledge an ancestral properties to a near by pawnshop.

So when I had been invited by twiching to review their Studio Lights from Godox i knew this was the right one for the price verus performance. I knew i had heard this brand name before but i could not recollect exactly where until i googled it. Then i remembered that while i was doing my search on portable battery pack for my strobe light, this name had come in. Their  invertor the LP750 is something of a buy and has a good review by Rob Galbraith here.

Though Godox is manufactured in China, they have made such a good name globally that in European Market  it is now market by Elemental and here in UAE twiching.com has most of the brands of Godox.

Lets see what the kit contains – flash heads, light stands, softbox, umbrella, barndoor kit, remote trigger, sync line, and carrying bag. I have not done a detailed review due to time limitation and whats here is a basic review.

So let us look at some of the features that this head contain

Head:

What I like:

The first features i like about this strobe is how light weight it is and yet meeting the demands of a photographers.

You can trigger with using either the sync cord, optical trigger that comes with it, by using the test button or in slave mode using your camera flash.

It has the variable power so you can dial in the amount of flash you need. With modeling lamp, you could see how your light will fall before taking the shot. It also comes with Buzz function to notify you when it flashes and when it’s recharged and ready to work.

What I dont Like:

The Buzz light on the top. It could break if not carried safely.

Conclusion: If you are beginner and is planning to move slowly to big lights then this is the best lights for you. This has all the different modifiers in the kit and you dont need another spending of fortune.

For Professionals, this is the best backup flash units you can keep.
